Yes, the oil trap nipples.
The V6 has two nipples -- I made sure that I had new hose on hand since the old was too brittle to survive removal. I pulled the hose off the nipple, and used an old thin drill bit that I had to open up the hole (note -- I did not drill the hole out! I just used the bit in my fingers as a probe). Actually this is a broken bit I keep around to periodically clear out the gas holes on our stove (cast iron burners), and it was just the right size, and more rigid than the thin wire and pipe cleaner I tried first.
Whether this cleaning, the new check valve or the new hose (or a combo of all three) did the trick, in my case it helped. That said, the 4 cyl PCV system is a different animal with different issues that Saab tried to address with the various updates. There may very well be more going on there.
I have 242,000 on my car. It was back in March, and I had about 238K on it then.
