might be the TB , cleaning the inside bore/plate is tricky . 12 years of traffic can be worse than 400K miles .
The juttery acceleration feels like alot of other things . Some throw codes and others won't . The bummer is there isn't any good "test" of the TB , unless you put it apart on the bench , Autopsy often reveals problems with the wires that control the cruise control/ drive by wire internal components . The plastic tabs snap off when the cover is removed .
A soon to fail ignition coil can cause a hesitation , but usually a code or "misfire" .
Plugged up fuel filter in the heat ..again no code ..kind of gets better as the traffic starts to move ...no codes ..
Traffic and low RPMs {engine speed} also heat up the car and stress all the systems at once . The alternator might not be recharging enough to fully supply everything , so everything slows down . Then traffic picks up and your car is "the problem " .
Steady idle is a good sign .
