Corning silicone "stopcock" grease. I -er- liberated a lifetime supply so long ago that even God's statute of limitations has expired. Totally inert to water/alcohol/glycol based fluids, and possibly even petroleum based fluids. I've used it to pack the parking brake mechanism cavity in the dreaded Girling 99/C900 front brakes, lubricate brake and clutch seals during rebuilds, coat the inner bore of clutch cylinders that I've honed for storage, and to pack around the outside of bleeder nipples while I'm using a "mity-vac" to flush the brake fluid. In the last case, it seals out the air so the flush takes a lot less time, and I suppose whatever silicone fluid is drawn into the threads by the vacuum prevents corrosion in the threads.
I do know that the latter can can be an issue. On a previous (long defunct) brand that also started with an "S" I was able to loosen the the bleeder nipples exactly once. After that when flushing the brake fluid I needed to remove the caliper, pour out the old fluid, fill the caliper with new fluid, then let the fluid run while I rotated the caliper onto the flexible brake hose. The front caliper in question (this brand used drums in the back) was the exact same model as the ATE rear caliper used on later 99s and early 900s.
