Hello,
It is possible it is burning some. The cat can incinerate a fair amount of oil without producing smoke or odor. Not to start any oil fight but my experience with my own car confirms to me that mobil 1 is dangerous if you don't check oil frequently. I change the oil in my 2002 9-3 with 9-5 aero motor every 3,000 miles. If I use mobil 1 i will add a quart about every 1,000 miles. If I use the bulk synthetic at work I will add about 1/2 quart between 2,000 and 2,500 miles. Good Luck, Bernie at George Riggin Specialty Automotive
