Dat snap ring tho... Posted by Tulsaab [Email] (#31) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Tulsaab) on Mon, 21 Sep 2015 06:26:45 In Reply to: Oil pump O-ring., Mark in Marine (MN), Fri, 18 Sep 2015 20:01:55 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I was planning on changing out the o-ring when I had to replace the harmonic balancer seal, but couldn't find tool locally that could get the snap ring off. Harbor Freight's extra large snap ring pliers were broken in the box when I got them (so no trust there) and Sears/Craftsman didn't offer anything large enough to get it done. After calling my favorite Saab indy (Taliaferro), it appears as if they use a special $150 tool to get that snap-ring dislodged.
Long story short, it didn't get replaced on my '07. Fortunately, the harmonic balancer seal was the source of the leak.
