If you are not familiar with that and don't have the tools, yes.
Also using a videscope might reveal small amounts of coolant in the cylinder if you have had a strange disappearance of coolant over long period of time?
Minuscule problems like this also demands a shop that have the interest to go the extra length since a lot of time, the answer might not flash you right in the face but you have to spend some time on it.
I spent many, many hours and several visits by a customer having a misfire on cylinder #1 on a 9-3 V6 and in the end, me and another shop believes it is a sticking valve or partially loose valve seat acting up every blue moon. Customer did not want to fix it but drives it like that.
