Are you saying that you replaced the faceplate on your old radio and reinstalled your old radio? That sort of makes sense *if* the original problem was with the faceplate of your original radio.
be aware though that unless that junkyard radio was properly divorced it will never work in your car, or any car ...
I've bought used radios, but only from knowledgeable junyards (Goldwing in NY, Swedish and English Spares in GA). They properly divorce the radios using a tech II.
