Thanks, Brian, you're the one who pointed me toward Speedparts in Sweden as a lower cost source for new SID. It was superbly packaged, and a genuine SAAB part as far as I can tell. I almost laughed when I saw that it is made in Australia.
The hardest part of the replacement was getting the plugs out of the newer style radio fascia without scratching them up. The newer GM radio unit uses four Torx screws instead of the DIN pull out design.
