Disabling Shift Lock Solenoid

01 Aero, 160 k miles, Shift lock solenoid is malfunctioning, works correctly on/off. Key insert override works fine, but is annoying at best. Pedal sensors working, lights and cruise control aok. Not looking to replace, since repair is lengthy and way too many bits need to come off to replace something that is not necessary imho. My question- how much disassembly is required to be able to access and then disable solenoid? Are there different method/procedures to disable? Any info would be appreciated, thanks, and regards, Tom S.
