Thermostat Replacement Temp Question Posted by cheaptech [Email] (#1856) [Profile/Gallery] (more from cheaptech) on Fri, 27 Nov 2015 13:41:52 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Background : Took daughter's 2007 Hyundai for a ride and the cabin heat never got all that hot, temp gauge was well below mid point. So it might be thermostat opens at too cool at temp, going to replace.
The above made me think that maybe I should replace the original thermostat on my 2004 ARC, although it works fine and the cabin heat is great. Rock auto lists a couple of stats at 192 degree - OEM temp, and some at 195 and numerous at 180 .
So does anyone or has anyone run the 180 degree stats without any issues such as a CEL ? The 180 types are cheaper but also the 2.3 operates at pretty hot temps, just wondering regards the downside to going with a cooler stat.
I'll probably stick with 192 if I decide to order a stat.
