This is on an 03 4cyl, ~143K. Sometimes the car will idle rough at startup. I can go for a long highway run with no symptoms. Then when I hit stop and go urban traffic, the car will nearly stall. I usually catch it, flip to neutral, and rev the engine a little. If I shut down, restart can mean stall without extra throttle. Other times, it's fine. It tends to stumble a little if I'm on the brake. I've cleaned the TB and MAF.
Today I got two p0101 and one p0441. I'm going to get a hose plier and try what Anders suggested in the link. He also says p0101 is a tricky one as it could be TB/MAF/something else. I've got a TB gasket on order as someone else suggested that can go. All vacuum lines are silicone and I don't see any leaks. I suppose I could pull each line off and test them. Where else do I need to test for air leaks? I've deleted the CBV if that matters.
The reducing hose on the evap line (PN 4752382) failed and I used some standard hose with the original hose clamps. I could try swapping that to 6mm silicone stretched onto the larger end in case the rubber hose is leaking somehow. Interestingly, the car ran fine with that hose broken, but issued codes. It ran fine for a short while after being fixed.
Other ideas? Do I put in a TB/MAF? I have access to another pre-02 so I could theoretically test parts as the MAF doesn't need new seals. The EVAP valve has some vin splits, it seems.
