Hello,
Alldata time is 8.0 hours to change transmission including transfer of parts. In addition the cooler should be flushed which alldata time for is .6 hours. Experience tells me that is probably a little light warranty time from Saab was 7.4 hours plus .4 hours to flush the cooler and it included performing the transmission adaptation after the swap was performed.. I would probably quote 11 hours for the job including the rear main seal and the adaptation.
The job is done by dropping the subframe and leaving the engine in the car. Any shop should be able to perform the swap. The only thing Saab specialist may be good for is the clearing of the adaptation and performing a new adaptation. The adaptation can effect shifting and internal fluid pressures. It can be a little tedious to perform.
Since the subframe is removed it can be a good time to change the mounts and the subframe bushings. Good Luck, Bernie
