Only need to cap the Tee in the main line Posted by MI-Roger [Email] (#882) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MI-Roger) on Sat, 16 Jan 2016 05:32:29 In Reply to: CBV delete, cap unused sensor port?, steve, Fri, 15 Jan 2016 16:36:44 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Once the valve is isolated from the system the only reason the solenoid is left in the engine bay is because the HVAC program looks for the resistance across its coil to be sure it is operable.
I removed the plastic Tee fittin in the main vacuum line supplying this valve and replaced it with a straight connector. I am glad to hear the plastic/rubber vacuum caps are junk. Now I don't feel bad about being forced to buy a $5 blister box assortment of ~25 or more vacuum line connectors just to get the one I needed.
