I've got an '05 Aero 5spd Auto. Symptoms only occurred when transmission cooked for awhile. Typically after 45 minutes of city driving. Clunky shifts, slipping and delayed engagement with resounding clunk into 1st and reverse. Replaced the valve body (the hydraulic brain as it were). Even had a P0780 and limp home one time. The only symptom remaining is a clunk in first and reverse, probably from excessive wear in the gears due to the valve body. I suspect it was due to the SO putting the trans in gear immediately after starting, not giving fluid enough time to wet out the solenoid bores. I saw valve bodies on clearance at SAABParts US a couple weeks ago.
