Well, your indie certainly makes a point, but as far as bending brake line, it's more art than science. I'm not sure how much you've bent, but it's typically sold in rolls of 25 ft or more and bending it to match all the crooks and turns in a vehicle, much less routing it in there is a very time consuming task. With the proper tools, making a double flare is easy. In the end, the one piece brake line attaches at both ends with the same double flares.
At any rate, it's a matter of choice. This just happens to be the one I would make, certainly not the one others would choose.
