Failed on my vc gasket repair tonight. I pulled out the new Elring I ordered from amazon and go to install the outer gasket and it's about 1/2" too long. The part is clearly identified the correct number. As I'm looking at the cover from the front it's the front right corner, HUGE buckle sticks out when you line up the two bolt eyelets. This does not seem like OEM quality, the gasket needs to be rotated from the half moon areas to line up the with the torx holes causing the gasket to not seat well even with gasket spray adhesive on a few places. Am I just missing something here ? I will source another one locally and try again tomorrow.
I am officially 0-3 on my last 3 repairs of knocking it out easily at this point.
