One more question:
The 2008 I drove today had very underperforming brakes- is it likely it is just cheap aftermarket brake pads? All 4 tires are brand-new, I think they were P7's, not really sure. It isn't the brake booster, there was plenty of assist, the car would just not stop as fast as my 2004. For comparison I have a 2004 with the 308mm fronts/ventilated rears and unknown pads, and I also have a 2000 with the smaller rotors, akebono ceramics and an apparently non-functioning booster. The 2000 feels like it stops just as fast as the 2004 but requires more force on the pedal.
