Installed my last ever Whaler. It was never great and lasted maybe two years before it began to throw the "not warm enough yet" code, along with the buried temp needle syndrome. Replaced by a Stant (not super, but one called OE something), which has performed perfectly ever since.
My temp gage is set for "off the peg" at something reasonable, horizontal at 90C, and top peg at something else reasonable. No deadband. I like to see the needle doing what it did in my C900s.
