Hole is still there, but....... Posted by MI-Roger [Email] (#882) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MI-Roger) on Wed, 18 May 2016 09:51:36 In Reply to: Re: Aero going into the shop on Friday, RodM, Wed, 18 May 2016 09:18:02 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
The fuel pump is no longer aligned with the floor pan hole, and the fuel level sensor is located remotely. The $60 fuel level sensors are gaining a reputation as a wear-out part - one that requires nearly 5 hours of labor to remove and reinstall the fuel tank to access!
The exhaust sytem needs to be removed. The rear brake lines need to be removed or moved aside. The fuel tank needs to be emptied. The tank EVAP system needs to be disconnected. Then the tank gets dropped out of the car.
I wonder if a metal cutting holesaw and a large diameter rubber plug might be a better way to provide access to the fuel level sensor?
