This is opinion only -
Is the seller a dealer? If it's private party and the current owner has complete service records, AND if they have done a lot of the higher dollar maintenance, then I'd definitely consider something over the KBB price. Mileage will matter, so will the records, as well as wear and tear.
Assuming this car has ca. 90K to 100K miles, things I would anticipate needing would be new struts/shocks, new motor mounts, new CPS, new PCV hoses, new DIC, maybe front subframe bushings, maybe water pump. Then there are T-stat, plugs, serp belt & pulleys, etc. This can run $1500 to $2000 in parts. If any or all of these have been done recently, then factor it in. If the records are good and oil changed regularly, but none of these have been done, the KBB might be right - and you'll end up spending on these parts.
Good luck and let us know what you see / your outcome.
