I had a problem a year ago and needed to turn the car over 4/5 times to start it in the morning. I guessed it was the pump and replaced it with a PFS unit. I did wonder about the non return valve and in view of how easy it appears to be to break these, I ordered replacement inlet and outlet elbows. The fact is the non return valve was clearly faulty so I also ordered a non OEM straight metal unit just in case. The new pump solved the problem but the starting problem has now re-appeared. The symptoms are the the same and so is the temporary fix. Turn the the ignition key to ON three or four times and then turen to START.Difficult to believe the pump would last just under a year? Anyone with views - its easier replacing the pump then sorting the outlet piping and valves. Bit more expensive of course, but looking over the web, the PFS units don't seem to have a great reputation.
