I use AmsOil EFM which is a 5W40 full synthetic "Euro-Oil" made for the following specs: ACEA A3/B3, BMW LL-01, and GM L-B-025. Our 9-5 has 168,000 miles. It burns a little when driven on the highway. We just completed an 1,800 mile road trip (90% highway). By a little, I mean a cup every 1,500 - 2,000 miles. Around town consumption is too little to measure. I've been using this oil since it was introduced a few years ago and have been pleased with its performance. I change it every 5,000 miles.
I'd look for any full synthetic that meets ACEA A3/B3 and is compatible with the SAAB emissions control system.
