I did some searching in the forum and found lots of pointers to R&R-ing the lock cylinder. Will attempt it this weekend.
The car has additional weird symptoms: the remote FOBs do not function anymore (no lock/unlock, no trunk release), the alarm does not seem to arm (no flashing red light on the dash). Are these related to the cylinder not 'poping up'?
If I clean and lube the assembly, (and barning anything being wornout) will the other weird behaviors be fixed?
Thanks again for the insight.
