I keep a full size spare in the back of my wagon. It is not the same model of wheel, but I wouldn't have the slightest hesitation to put a 17" 235/45 on as a spare. The donut spare is a much larger departure from "stock" than any Saab 17" wheels would be.
Honestly, I would expect that the difference in diameter between a brand new tire and a worn tire would cause more problems than having a different style of wheel... and even then, I'd drive home on whatever spare is in there and it shouldn't actually be an issue.
I also have the DWS in 235/45. I have liked them so far. Very nice tires, and reasonably priced for their specs.
