Not really a good idea Posted by LAS [Email] (#2802) [Profile/Gallery] (more from LAS) on Mon, 17 Oct 2016 22:25:09 In Reply to: Towing a 9-5 Aero Wagon manual, idrvsaab [Profile/Gallery] , Sun, 16 Oct 2016 14:23:54 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Aero ground clearance is low, and the front subframe bushings are a weak point. I am not sure you could drive it with a tow bar welded on under there. I can barely get a floor jack under my front end to jack it, and I often scrape the bottom of the fascia on curbs.
You could put a trailer dolly under the front wheels, but the rear end is not particularly stout either. See posts about sag and shimming for camber adjustment. That would be less of a consideration if you don't plan to trailer it a lot.
Good luck with the project. It's a great car to drive. I had a 2001 and now drive a 2005.
