I don't know if I dare to answer you because I don't know how you are tackling this.
If you continued to turn the camshaft around in the same direction it flipped out, you will hit and bent the valves trying to complete the turn.
You have to move the camshaft back opposite the way it flipped out of timing.
It will be some tension doing it since you are fighting the cam lobs and springs in doing so.
