SE V6/Arcs can only be had with an automatic, but I digress...my wife's '01 9-5 LPT wagon gets about the same mileage, and she drives about the same distance. By the time the engine is up to optimum operating conditions, she's already at work. During the week, most of her driving is within a 10 mile redius of our house-3 miles to work, 2 miles to daycare, 2 miles to grocery, etc. We use her car for the weekends and longer trips, where the gas mileage is more typical of what one would expect.

FWIW, she had a '99 Accord EX 4dr 5speed manual rated at 25 MPG city, 30MPG HWY and she got about the same gas mileage on average as the 9-5 wagon driving the same routes.

It's all about driving distance and speed.
