The control arms are down on the list of issues with undercarriage unpleasantries. I would look first at sway bar links (mine shot at 100k), measure ride height and look for issues with worn out springs or damaged struts (mine shot at 115k, two struts had no damping left), and most likely wallowed out subframe bushings (mine shot at 120k). Later on comes the control rod bushes (mine still good at 150k). I spent a lot of money on the underside of a car that never saw a day of road salt, seems like everything made of rubber goes out relatively quickly, including motor mounts, which are probably also shot by now on this car. Replaced all mine at 95k, torque rod and two upper mounts are getting bad again at 150k.
Knowing that you have experience with your stable of Saabs (if this is Noel in NH), the OG 9-3 gave up the control arm bushings first, the rest of it on those cars was pretty durable. NG 900's had major problems with the front strut mounts. OG 900 were pretty solid all around on the underside.
