Your only concern is the connection. For best results, have an old dead one in he drawer somewhere so you can splice in the connector on your bench at leisure.
Use *both* crimp and solder, the latter a slight challenge as the sensor wires tend to be stainless steel. Seal well. I like Butyl Rubber (aka "dum dum"), which you can get in huge quantities at auto body supply shops. I smoosh that all around the connection of each wire independendly, wrap that with either heat shrink or electrical tape, then wrap the bundle with tape or heat shrink. The signal is very high impedance, (electrical engineer talk for weak) and any kind of oxidation in the splice will interfere with the signal. See posts on repairing the O2 sensor wiring junction...
