The rears springs on these cars sag, particularly the wagons if they've been loaded. The car droops in the rear, the suspension geometry gets worse and your tires end up just like you described.

Two fixes. Ideal is to measure your ride height and get spacers from Genuine Saab or an EBay vendor. There's some rear bushings that are proabably worn too. One is easy. The cross stays need a special tool. Your rear shocks are probably shot too. Don't bother changing the rear springs. New ones will sag.

The other option is to try rear shims. This doesn't fix the cause and is very hit or miss, but it is probably cheaper.
