I'm guessing something is corrupted in the firmware of the unit, if it hasn't been changed.. From what I recall, new units would need to be synched up via TECH2 .. but existing ones can be swapped in and out.. So maybe something is corrupted within the firmware, requiring a resynch with Tech2?... just a guess on my part
