Your mileage is about right for a TB replacement. Anything beyond 150,000 puts you into unknown territory.
I have to give you credit, you wrote it way beyond my capabilities. My story: It was a pop, CEL, and as I rounded the exit ramp bend in morning rush hour traffic from US 23 onto I 94 West, I had to lift off the gas for traffic. Then the engine quit. All the tolerant motorists giving me "the finger" of assistance. I got the car restarted and it would only stay running at 1000 to 1500 rpms idle... drove "2 foot style" all the 120 miles home to Grand Rapids. I called the parts man to have him order the throttle body for my '01 while in route on US 127.
Replacement was all it took. Mine had bee on the 2001 for over 150,000 miles, which seems to be the "average" in failures, like fuel pumps, etc.
Thanks for letting me finally tell my story. The similarity of my experience in your original post is uncanny.
