Both of our 2005 right rear sedan seatbacks are a bit tempermental in their old age and the latch button sticks down until I fiddle with it. It's not something I have taken a close look at(yet). I would probably first ensure that all visible fasteners, if they exist are tight. I would then try to lubricate the mechanism to see if that helps. Access to hit the right spot(s) might be difficult. I think I remember that the button has to be up (flush with the top) to work? But that's the sedan. I don't know about the sport-about wagon.
