While my '99 9-5 climate control certainly isn't the best, I we've had a prior car with auto climate controls that simply worked perfectly - a Jeep Grand Cherokee. The only time that I would ever change any settings was when I had a passanger that was too cold or too warm. In the Saab it usually works fine but then for no good reason the Recirculate will switch on and even though I have it set at 68 I will have to turn the Econ mode on before everything freezes in the car...
Having said that, I still think that auto climate control is one of the best concepts in auto automation, if executed properly. I have a Miata as my second/weekend car, and it has manual controls. I always have to fiddle with them.
However I will second the opinion that auto wipers are idiotic, and will add the auto-dimming mirror to that as well.
