Door Light Switch Wire

2008 9-5 Sport Combi. Lately, the courtesy light has been a bit hesitant to come on when I open the door, so I thought I'd change the plunger switches. It's an easy enough job, except when the wire is caught on something inside the car body and won't come out. After trying for a few minutes to angle and twist it and coax it to come out, the wire finally slipped off the switch and is now somewhere in the b-pillar (same thing happened with the rear seat, so both driver's side doors are not connected).
Is there any way to get to the wires without dismantling the car, or am I basically screwed?
Thanks in advance.
