I figured it was time to get a Tech2, I decided on this one:
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/High-Tech2-Diagnosis-For-GM-OPEL-SAAB-SUZUK-Holden-ISUZU-add-32MB-Card-Software-For-GM/32957275279.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.4b6b4c4d02lQTY
which includes free shipping from China.
I was skittish about ordering from Aliexpress, so to be safe I used Bank Of America ShopSafe, which generates a CC number with a self determined limit and expiration date.
Shipping was fast (arrived in ~5 days), communication with the seller was prompt and helpful, and product arrived well packed (in a cardboard box) and in perfect condition. I had no trouble whatsoever.
It included everything ... the Saab Card, CANdi module, cables, etc. Everything seemed high quality. It has no markings or labels. It did, however, come with a bunch of stickers including "serial numbers" (I guess that confirms it's a "clone"?)
Alternatives:
- op comm
- "pro grade scanners" (SnapOn, etc). Confirmed that they cannot read SAAB ABS or SRS codes.
- higher end consumer grade tools that claim to have Saab ABS and SRS read capability. I contacted a number of sellers on amazon and none could guarantee that it would work for Saab ABS and SRS.
For $250 I think this is well worth it.
