coolant leak from headgasket? Posted by don m [Email] (#1349) [Profile/Gallery] (more from don m) on Sun, 27 Jan 2019 11:02:18 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Car is a 2004 Aero. Over the past few months I've had to add a bit of coolant every couple of weeks to keep the level up in the overflow tank. There's a very slow leak from somewhere but I've checked the usual coolant leak locations and found nothing. But while under the car changing the oil yesterday I noticed coolant stains on the oil pan bolts right behind the oil filter. The leak appears to be coming down the side of the block.
Does this indicate a head gasket leak? I hate the thought of having to get that replaced. Does the board think I could fix this by re-torqueing the headbolts? Or might that make it worse? Help, please! Any advice appreciated.
