I've installed two (two different cars) in the past couple of years.
Each one had an issue sticking "closed" and not letting hot coolant through the heater core. In one case, I simply disconnected the vacuum line to leave it open, and in the other case (current car) I'm going to see how it evolves. Heat works fine on cold mornings, but doesn't always come back if the interior warms up while parked, and the system calls for the valve to bypass the heater core in "cooling" mode.
I may very well just bypass the whole thing if it continues into the fall when we will need heat regularly.
I do find it interesting that both new valves have had an issue with sticking.
