I'd buy a couple bottles of Seafoam and run it through the system, before trying anything else.
But just for background's sake, I will mention that our 2001 Aero (now with 210,000 miles) has benefited most from the replacement of the positive battery cable. Fixed starting issues (plus many other things). If you haven't replaced yours, you ought to. The second thing I saw was the electronics side of the Throttle Body on pre-02 9-5s can get a little sketchy. But I think the bad battery cable is what killed my '01 TB here.
One last thing. Once the vehicle is starting better, consider a regular regiment of Lucas Fuel Treatment. My theory is, ordinary ethanol laced gasoline is harsh on these pumps and the fuel treatment conditions the working parts on the pump.
