There is no code that was set, and no diagnostics that were run indicating that it's "time". it is based on some combination of time and mileage. I have never been able to detect a pattern. you can reset it without a Tech2
to reset, turn the car on, in park, brake depressed. (you may not *need* to have the car running, Im not sure)
- Press clear and release, "TIME FOR SERVICE" clears.
- Press clear again and hold.
- after 10 secs or so the "CLEARED" message appears. this message is just a decoy and intended to weed out the week among us. Don't fall for it, keep holding the button.
- another 5 or 10 and the "SERVICE" message appears. you can release the button now.
at this point the message will not appear again until the secret combo of mileage/time/moon phase occurs ... at that time do it again.
