yeah that bottom bolt is a bear.... I think the spec is around 140 ft-lbs of torque if i recall.....
I've done mine in the past using shorter breaker bar.. but then I slid a 4 foot cast iron pipe i had over the break bar. and was able to get enough leverage to loosen it...
from what I recall reading.. you're suppose to use a new bolt each time.. but I just reused the old one. If you're not under the gun in terms of time.. i would get the new bolt for peace of mind.. especially given the battle you had with the old bolt...
