I'd guess that the o-ring is split, nicked, compressed or pinched.
It's not in vogue these days, but you could replace the o-ring ... a legit hardware store will sell them. Bring the cps and old o-ring and I'm sure you can find a match.
or you could replace the CPS, which will come with a new O-Ring.
if the CPS has 60k mi or more (or if it has an unknown number of miles) I'd definitely replace it with a new one.
