I hit the HD truck at maybe 5-10 mph . . . I was hard on the brakes. No airbags deployed in any vehicles, and no inertia switches either. No-one appeared to be dazed. The HD truck I hit was pushed into a 2019 Range Rover that was damaged on the bumper and hatch, but the hatch still opened and re-latched. Ranger Rover driver has claimed injury, but my instincts say it's a money grab.
Damage to the 9-5 is limited to the bumper, radiator support, grills, headlights, and both radiator & AC condenser. Fenders and hood are OK, hood still latches and unlatches. The headlights could probably be salvaged with some creativity, silicon and epoxy.
It's repairable I'm sure, but economics are not in favor with such low value.
I've had to move on to a '13 Ford Fusion SE Hybrid. Only 52k miles for $10k. While it's no Saab, it drives nice and has delivered 35-42 mpg in mixed driving, which is something with $4/gallon gas in the SF Bay Area.
