As mentioned, I'd check battery (even at one year, if it's at 12V or less at start-up this can happen). Also check stuck or dirty brake light switch at pedal, and look for corrosion at brake light sockets. On a 2006 wagon I maintain for my daughter the bulb-socket contacts were fine, but the connector to the harness had corrosion issues inside the female portion - corrosion was not obvious, but the results sure were.
Perhaps none of these are your issue, but I have experienced all three.
