01 Aero 2.3t - very rough idling

Okay...so I went to a car dealer (in Germany, just FYI) since he had advertised a 01 Aero 2.3t AT for a seemingly reasonable price.
Car has around 310000 kms on the clock, last oil change was in 2019 at 300000. No further infos about the replacement dates for the timing belt, sparks etc. available. Apart from some cosmetic issues, the vehicle displayed two things which made me thinking twice on shelling out the dough:
The Saab has a steady (in terms of RPM) but very rough idling (vibrations) you can feel clearly in the steering wheel, in fact I had never experienced something like that on any car ever before. My guesses would be either the engine brackets or the silent shafts.
After starting, there was a smell of exhaust. It was gone after a shrt time, but nonetheless, it stinks.
Although the dealer signalled that he would give me a good discount on the car (priced at €3000, last price is €2300), I'm almost at the point of declining but would like to sample some opinions first.
No matter of the outcome of my little "poll" - thanks in advance and stay fit! ;-)
