02 9-5 Aero body Posted by skibumm100 [Email] (#3255) [Profile/Gallery] (more from skibumm100) on Sat, 11 Apr 2020 06:51:37 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Hello everyone. I hope everyone has been able to dodge the COVID bug. I bought an 02 9-5 Aero 5-spd from a friend last fall and the car has been very well taken care of. 160K on the clock, not driven in winter for decades (only a few since new). Very clean. I have owned many 9000's and currently own three. When I took the 9-5 for a test drive my wife and I noticed a lot of body noise. The best way to describe it would be the sound of rigid insulation moving around inside the body panels throughout the car. It is quite noticeable, especially with the stereo off. Even with the stereo on, the noises are pretty noticeable. Are 9-5's especially susceptible to bushing squeeks or body noise? Is there a fix? My 9000's are all older with many more miles on them and none of them exhibit the cacophony (symphony?) of sounds going over every bump and expansion joint. Any time the body flexes in the least or goes over a small bump, the body lets you know it. TIA for your feedback. Stay safe.
