Breather Hose report

I have to say up front that it was my own fault for needing to change it out but the breather hose from TB to Oil Trap was a pain to change given what looks like relative simplicity.
First the decision to go with the ProParts version was because of the fact that it was more readily available and, more importantly, it now has a METAL valve rather than the plastic one that seems to give way far too readily on the Genuine ones.
Getting the old one to pull off at the oil trap end was the first PITA.
Eventually, from under the car, I just cut the hose, turned it to a better position for squeezing the clips in and then worked at it til it gave way. Damn, that was a pain though really. Chanel grips helped get pressure and leverage.
Then, getting the new one threaded and oriented so as to push it on to the trap fitting was not too bad but the pushing it on to the trap fitting only became possible when I put some oil on the trap fitting to make it move. Even then it seemed to take ages and too much cajoling for what it is. Maybe it's just me.
Anyway, it is done and the Hella TB is in, the breather is in and it all works great. Smooth acceleration now. Love it. Cannot tell for sure, but I think the hesitation on acceleration (which is now gone) and hopefully that occasional stumble at idle too, was all because of the TB rather than being the check valve all along. I think I broke the valve in the process.
Time will tell. Hope this helps someone.
