9-5 photo of shock locknut removal 1 Saabers Like This Post! Posted by Snowmobile [Email] (#686) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Snowmobile) on Mon, 15 Jun 2020 14:22:39 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I just moved a bunch of photos over to TSN that I was hosting elsewhere. Since the links will break now, I thought I'd repost. I think this is the only useful 9-5 photo (old site)...
Many complain about removing the top locknuts on the rear shocks. After soaking in liquid wrench, it came off really easily using this technique of a 7mm ratchet on top, and vice grips on the nut. Crank the vicegrips against the ratchet to ratchet it apart. Super easy.
I also redid the doglegs which were rusting again. This time I did a more thorough prep before POR15 so hopefully it will outlast the car. Looks like the last time I did this on the 2004 was at least 4 years ago (photos uploaded 2016, but I could have sworn I did that years prior, so maybe I uploaded the photos a number of years later?).
