We never got the diesel here in the states so no specific info ...
Sounds like quite a mess. However I'd be loathe to use a "jet wash" under the hood. I'd go with a degreaser and gentle water rinse taking care to keep water out of anything that should not have water in or on it. (plastic bags taped over the oil fill, etc etc)
I cant imagine that the alternator contributed to a problem with your air conditioning system. I think you'll have to start diagnosing the A/C issue separately. But since that you "just had it recharged" it sounds like it's likely you have a leak anyway so you might start there, it might be that you are low on refrigerant.
