Greetings,
I own Tech 2 knock off from land of the dragon. It works flawlessly for me which take care of vehicles. Indeed, it too was supplied with a CD which had TIS2000, 5 or so years ago. I recall, upon installation requirement for jubi key or software key /dongle crack or something of that nature. Not sure if I have installed TIS2000 from that CD or googled and installed working version nor requiring it. I've installed TIS2000 NAO. You can also try and install GlobalTIS, which requires a few more steps to install and complete installation process. There are a lot of guides and walk-throughs on how to do it correctly. GlobalTIS is also finicky as it works specifically with Java Version 6. It executes a program within a program. I have to say it has better GUI and far more pleasant to work with. Both, TIS2000 and SAAB GlobalTIS are installed and working perfectly for which i did not spend a dime however, some persistence and time was required. You can accomplish PCMCIA card read write within the unit using above mentioned programs however, there is also a stand alone program to read/write 32MB PCMCIA card with different Saab/GM versions such as 143.000 148.000 and older called ELAN MCE PCMCIA and Card done outside of the Tech 2. You have to have bin file ready to be written though. Program available on line for d/l. Latest version 148.000 includes SAAB vehicles from MY99 - MY12 for all 9-5's and 9-3's. You must have a PCMCIA card slot on your workstation or a laptop or an adapter is required.
If you require, I can share 148.000 bin file. Just let me know.
Cheers,
Ro
